Love the star and its different lighting modes. Suggestion make different sizes of this star.

Construction is sturdy and it is very bright, but from a distance at night, looks more like a snowflake or regular star. The LED does not extend down into the longer points which is disappointing considering the price. To skimp on the LED lights, would have maybe cost and additional $1 if that in manufacturing to extend the LED strip to the tips of each start point. Additionally the memory does not hold the programming when powered off. I have this mounted on a 28ft tree. the first night I put it up and set the function to the pattern I wanted. I was extremely disappointed when on the second night, the pattern was not what I had set it to, I will likely have to figure out a way to remedy this. If the pattern can not be held, it should at least default to a solid on. The starting pattern is my least favorite of any of them and will not work with the manger scene this is incorporated in. Holding a set pattern is standard in out door Christmas lighting, I am very disapointed this star does not do this!

The size is correct, please note light pattern is ice crystal shaped (not star), even with a longer top/bottom frame design, the lights are the same length on each arm (don't go full length of the top and bottom arms). Light patterns, only 5 options (not 7 or 11). If you use on timer or photocell, you won't get the same pattern upon the next start. With the short 10" on the control unit, it is not easily changed (if mounting high). Must keep the power "on" for lights to stay with the same pattern selection. But this is the main reason for the lower rating. Overall, it's a good design and fairly decent built quality. You will have to create your own mounting options on the back, but there are 4 connection points on the back to create something. The wires are more sensitive to damage between the LED and the control box (four 22-24 gauge wires vs. power cable) - care is needed.

Star had pieces of the delicate plastic broken off three points of the star. Unfortunate but not surprising since all the points weren’t protected for shipping. Also, wish the settings had more light options available. Even with the issues, this Star will still be be a beautiful addition to our Christmas decor.
